Lag B'Omer in Brooklyn

Thousands of men, women, and children gathered Wednesday night, May 6 in Jewish communities across Brooklyn to mark Lag B'Omer, the 33rd day of the "Omer," leading to the day when the Torah was given. The festivities -- like the large event at the Stolin synagogue in Borough Park, in photos -- feature men singing and dancing, with bonfires set as giant Yarzheit candles marking the death of Reb Shimmon, author of the Zohar, which formed the foundation of Kabala.
