Bais Yaacov Academy  nursery school teacher Morah Bashy leads her costumed young charges in an early Purim dance on Wednesday afternoon, March 12  in the school yard on East 13th Street in Midwood.

Purim -- commemorating the saving of the Jewish people from the diabolical hand of Haman, the king's second-in-command, in the 5th century BCE Persian empire -- begins this year at sundown Saturday, March 15.
