Canarsie hit-and-run leaves 64-year-old man dead

Police were looking for the driver of an SUV that hit and killed a man in Canarsie on Friday evening , Oct. 11. The driver remained at large as of this posting.

The 64-year-old victim was crossing Remsen Avenue near Avenue L about 8:30 p.m.  when he was hit by a 2012 Chevrolet SUV, said police.

The driver did not remain at the scene, police said.

The victim, who was not publicly identified by this posting,  was pronounced dead at the hospital.
