Two jetskiers found dead off Seagate

The bodies of two jetskiers who had gone missing off the coast of Seagate on July Fourth evening were recovered the next day by police divers as distraught relatives looked on.

Police and witnesses said Willie Tom, 44, and Celine Fu, 29 were riding on the same Jet Ski when Fu fell off and disappeared under the water near Kaiser Park.
Tom, who was driving the craft, jumped in to try to save her – he was apparently dragged under by the struggling Fu. Neither was wearing a life vest.
"He was a great man, an adventurous guy. He loved helping people," Tom's brother, Michael, 38, said as he and their mother watched from the Coney Island shore while police divers recovered the bodies.
"There was no way he was going to come up without her. She was struggling, and if she wasn't coming up, he wasn't without her," Michael Tom said.
